Greetings from the Great Northwest! I'm Gwen, the youngest daughter of Junior and Thelma, grand-daughter of Mama and Papa. I grew-up in Sundown, TX and tried to keep up with Marv, except for the part about 'getting into trouble'. After graduating from Sundown High, I was encouraged by my Mama and Daddy to move away. Daddy wanted me to experience the world outside of West Texas. He always told me I could be anything I wanted to be but the choices were pretty slim in Sundown. I moved to Ft Worth/Dallas where I worked for a computer company and met my husband John who was from El Paso. We married in 1981 and in 1984 after living through some summers that were miserably HOT we decided to move to Seattle. I'm not sure Daddy really meant for me to go that far but what a trip it's been. The last 20 years I've worked for Spacelabs Medical, a company that manufactures hospital monitoring equipment. Currently, I manage the Global Tech Support group. I love the Northwest and can't imagine ever living without the trees, water and mountains.
I have really fond memories of growing up in such a large family with so many cousins and the best aunts and uncles. I very often told Mama and Daddy that I was sure glad that I was born to them and came from such a good strong Christian family. I miss them both terribly!
I'm really looking forward to hearing about everyone on this blog. I hope that everyone will continue to spread the word and we can all keep up with our extended family.
