Daryl Massey

Hey folks, I'm Lenora's #4 of 5. Raised in Plainview TX. Joined the Navy in '84, I was a BT(Boiler Technician). Gave them 13yrs and made 1st class, but after 3 Med. cruises and countless other underway periods it just was'nt too much fun any more. I live in Chesapeake VA with my wife, Pat. Two step daughters grown and out of the house. My son, Brady is in NY with his mom. 5 grandsons between the girls. Four mostly useless dogs, two vehicles, and a partridge in a pear tree.
I work for a millwork company, where I'm the head finisher. Spray miles and miles of mouldings, cabinets, doors, etc. Paint or clear lacquer, always something different. If you can draw it we can build it, and I'll finish it. A nice perk is being able to bring home nice material to build things for the family. I've got my own backyard shop that's always got something going on in it.
I hope this blog thing takes off. Marvin, this is a good idea.

I think it would be a good idea if everyone would post a blurb on themselves. This would allow everyone to know who they are, what they are doing, etc...

I grew up in Sundown, Texas hunting rabbits, playing football, and getting into trouble. After high school I joined the Air Force. After basic training I was recruited into the Official Security Investigation (OSI). The OSI is the Intelligence/Counter Intelligence/ Target Suppression branch in the Air Force oftn referred to as G2. I pulled missions in Eastern Europe and Southeast Asia during the Vietnam war where I was wounded. I received a Purple Heart and Two Bronze Stars for valor. After the service I returned to the books and earned a tech degree in Electronics Engineering landing a position for a computer company. I married the cute secretary in the front office in 1975 and have three children, Josh, Tara, and Amy. I retired in 2000 as the Director of Sales and Service from a BioMedical firm and moved back to Texas. I suffered a stroke in 2005 and was in a wheel chair for a year. Shortly after the stroke the doctors said I was experiencing PTSD symptoms and recommended I be seen by a dr. at the local Veterans Administration. The VA attempted to retreive my military files and I discovered my file was classified Top Secret with no release date assigned. My congressman was able to obtain a summary letter of my file which was sufficient for the VA to assign me 100% compensation. I am out of the wheel chair and walking, or almost, I bought a motorcycle several months back, a week later wrecked and broke my foot. I doing better now....
I look forward to blurbs on other family members.
FYI Chelsea Tisdale must be a whiz. I barely had this blog going and she requested authorization to post. Nikki I know you must be proud of her.

This is an attempt to create a Tisdale Family Blog. Feel free to post to the blog anytime you want. I would like for you to remove postings that has been on the blog for 60 days. This is an arbitrary number of days and I only request the removal so that the blog doesn't get to cumbersome. I am the administrator but I will not oversee the blog, that is up to the posters. In other words if you post news sometime in the future please remove the posting. Let's see how this works. If you have suggestions or ideas regarding the blog please post your comments and we'll see if the idea can be implemented. I want this to be a "Family Blog" not my blog. This is the first time I have attempted to create a blog so I am learning. I'm certain someone in the family has more experience than I do and I welcome your comments and guidance. My email address is marvt52@hotmail.com so if you know a family member that is not on the blog let me know and I willl add them to the blog. This type of communication is only as good as the news that is inputted. (is that a word?) I desperately need a school teacher to help me.
